DON’T post too frequently.

But, do post consistently. Creating a posting schedule will help you stay active without posting too much and overwhelming your followers. Consider finding something you can be known for like a weekly update on a topic or day-of-the-week themed posts.

DO reuse and repost your content.

As part of your social media schedule, include some content that you can repost and repurpose. Choose different quotes from your blogs, additional images from your successful listings, and post content on other platforms.

DON’T only use social media to sell your services.

Social media is an excellent place to find new clients, but you want to be careful not to be too salesy. Focus on showing who you are as an individual in addition to showing off your skills as an agent.

DO engage with your followers.

Post content that will excite and engage your followers. Show off unique new listings, post information that is helpful and informative for your followers, ask questions or try doing a poll. When your followers comment or share, be sure to respond on the platform. This helps spread your reach.

DON’T use too many hashtags.

Hashtags can be beneficial, but be careful not to overuse them. Stick to a few per post and make sure they’re relevant to your posting content. Hashtags are a great way to attract new followers, so use them to make sure your content shows up where they are looking.

DO keep your text to image ratio low.

It can be tempting to post images with text on them, but be careful not to take up too much space on your pictures with text. Too much text in an image can be hard to read and make it easier to scroll past.

DON’T forget to thank people.

Be humble on social media! Your followers will appreciate seeing a more candid side, and it will make your clients feel appreciated.

DO reference other sources.

Share content from other accounts that may be helpful, relevant, and interesting to your followers. Sharing content from other accounts and sources will help build your credibility.
